The team from the airport hotel Hilton Garden Inn Kraków Airport once again joined the volunteer efforts supporting the daily operations of the Ronald McDonald House in Kraków – a place that allows parents of young patients at the University Children’s Hospital to stay close to their children during treatment.
On November 25, as part of the volunteer initiative, our team spent several hours assisting with housekeeping tasks, helping staff and residents with the daily upkeep of the facility. This time our work included cleaning the kitchen and laundry room, vacuuming the corridors, and one of our colleagues professionally preparing a room for new families arriving at the House.
The Hilton Balice Team was represented by: Karolina Lamch – action coordinator and Supervisor in the Front Desk & Reservations Department, Ela Pyska (Front Desk), Monika Ciejek (Housekeeping),and Michał Popek, responsible for the hotel’s marketing.
The Ronald McDonald House in Kraków has been supporting families since 2015 by offering parents of young patients at the University Children’s Hospital a place to stay as close to their children as possible, no matter how long the treatment lasts. It is the first house of the Foundation in Poland, designed to relieve families in a difficult time and provide a warm, safe space where they can live, work, and spend time together.
Currently, there are two Ronald McDonald Houses operating in Poland - the first in Kraków, next to the University Children’s Hospital in Prokocim, the second in Warsaw, near the Children’s Clinical Hospital of the Medical University of Warsaw at Żwirki i Wigury Street.
Another House - currently under construction — is being built next to the “Children’s Memorial Health Institute” in Warsaw (Al. Dzieci Polskich 20), one of the world’s leading pediatric organ transplant centers and the only facility of its kind in Poland.
Worldwide, nearly 400 Ronald McDonald Houses operate near major pediatric centers across 60 countries.
On December 12, 2025, the Hilton Garden Inn Kraków Airport team will once again engage in volunteer work - this time gathering to cook something delicious for the families staying at the House, bringing warmth and hospitality into their everyday life. These are the values the Hilton Balice Team lives by every day.
