At Kraków Airport Hotel, we believe that business success goes hand in hand with responsibility towards society and the environment. Our sustainable development strategy is based on three pillars: corporate governance, stakeholder relations, and care for the natural environment.

From the very beginning of our operations, we have been committed to responsible business practices, implementing both the Hilton brand strategy within the Travel with Purpose program and undertaking our own initiatives. Our actions include minimizing our environmental impact, supporting local communities, and promoting sustainable development.

We are proud of our achievements, but we realize that we can always do more. That's why we are constantly improving our practices and looking for new ways to contribute to positive changes in our surroundings.

Care for the natural environment

At Kraków Airport Hotel, we take meticulous care of the natural environment. We implement a range of procedures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of our operations.

We are aware of the special importance of environmental protection and take actions that go beyond the required standards, which is in line with the broad policy of sustainable development of the Hilton Worldwide network.

As a franchisee of the Hilton Garden Inn brand, we hold ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management systems), ISO 50001:2018 (energy management systems), and ISO 9001:2015 (quality management systems) certifications. We are building environmental awareness both among our employees and externally through numerous publications on social media.

Our hotel is nestled amidst a picturesque landscape of scenic parks and nature reserves. We've drawn inspiration from nature in designing our public spaces, not only to empha the essence of the "Garden Inn" brand but also to provide a sense of tranquility and rejuvenation for travelers. Our green roof, wildflower meadow, and on-site herb garden are just a few examples of our eco-friendly initiatives.

We comply with all legal obligations related to environmental protection. We are registered in the Waste Database (BDO) and regularly report the amount of waste generated, which we segregate. We ensure safe storage and disposal of hazardous substances. We select food waste, and used oil is filtered and transferred to a specialized company. A grease and oil waste separator is installed in the building. Waste paper and selected plastics are compacted and recycled.

We repair broken equipment, donate or sell those that we replace, and those that are no longer usable often get a "second life" thanks to our Technical and Economic Department. We minimize paper consumption and apply principles aimed at zero waste. We save water and energy by monitoring their consumption and using systems that prevent excessive use. We actively participate in the Hilton Lightstay program. We ensure proper wastewater treatment, and our laundry and cleaning practices adhere to ecological standards. We use motion sensors and energy-efficient LED lighting. We choose appliances with the best energy class, and the BMS system helps us control resource consumption. Through these actions, we minimize our environmental impact and contribute to building a sustainable future.

We have taken a significant step towards utilizing renewable energy sources and reducing our carbon footprint by installing photovoltaic panels on the hotel's roof. Clients of our Conference Center can offset the carbon footprint generated during their events by participating in the Hilton 'Carbon Neutral Meetings' program. We also plan to implement software for monitoring our carbon footprint and taking actions to further reduce CO2 emissions.

We serve drinking water in reusable glass bottles, and our hotel rooms are opened with wooden key cards sourced from sustainable forests. In guest rooms, we've introduced full- toiletries in HDPE plastic packaging, which are recycled in partnership with Clean The World.

We actively promote a healthy lifestyle. Our employees have access to Multisport cards, and we organize sports activities such as 'Bike to Work with #HiltonBaliceTeam', 'Run with #HiltonBaliceTeam', and '#HiltonBaliceTeam on rollerblades'. We also support initiatives for participation in sporting events and provide our guests with access to state-of-the-art equipment in our fitness center.

Social Responsibility

At Kraków Airport Hotel, we believe that social responsibility is an integral part of our success.

We strive to build positive relationships with our employees, guests, and the local community, creating added value for all stakeholders.

In the hotel industry, the highest quality of service is our top priority. We ensure this through the competence of our team, the high standard of the facility, unique interiors, and modern equipment. We are actively involved in numerous initiatives that benefit the local community. We support the career development of young people and individuals with disabilities, participate in blood donation drives and sporting events, and collaborate with the Ronald McDonald House Charities and other organizations. We extend a helping hand to those in need, especially during the holiday season. We also partner with the Cracow University of Economics, providing patronage to specializations related to hospitality and gastronomy. Additionally, we support the local sports club LKS Lotnik Kryspinów and contribute to the education of future hoteliers by offering high-quality internships and apprenticeships.

Transparent communication is at the heart of our operations. We're readily available for our stakeholders through our 24/7 reception, dedicated email channels, website, social media platforms, and official information portals like KRS and BIP.

Since our establishment in 2009 as part of the Kraków Airport Capital Group, we have operated in accordance with our Articles of Association, which clearly define our objectives and the rights and responsibilities of the Management Board, Supervisory Board, and Shareholders' Meeting. All relevant corporate information is published on the KRS (National Court Register) and BIP (Public Information Bulletin) portals, ensuring full transparency of our operations.

Our management strategy is centered around three key areas:

  • Process and Resource Optimization: We strive to enhance our market competitiveness and maintain maximum revenue levels, leading to increased business efficiency.
  • Creating a Positive Workplace: We support the development of our employees' skills, promote their engagement, and foster a work environment that allows them to pursue their passions. This helps us maintain a stable level of employment.
  • Growth through Innovation: We embrace innovative solutions and new investments that contribute to the dynamic growth of our company.

We are guided by a clear vision: 'To be a company that creates a new quality of hospitality, thanks to partnerships with employees and the community, through an innovative approach to management. We are here for everyone who values time, comfort, and exceptional experiences'.

Integrity, Reliability, and Entrepreneurship, combined with building partnerships, define Kraków Airport Hotel. These values are the foundation of our organizational culture, shaping the way we work, make decisions, and collaborate with our stakeholders. We strive to create an environment where these principles are not only upheld but also inspired and promoted every day to ensure the highest level of satisfaction and trust.

Our operational activities, encompassing both hotel and catering services, are meticulously monitored. We continuously analyze our performance, comparing it against budgetary assumptions, historical data, market trends, and competitor results. This enables us to implement appropriate measures, minimizing negative impacts and maximizing positive outcomes. We are also subject to various forms of oversight and control. Management effectiveness and key decisions are presented at regular Supervisory Board meetings. The accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting with regulations are audited annually by certified public accountants. Adherence to the highest quality standards is subject to annual assessment by a Hilton Worldwide auditor. Compliance with HACCP, health and safety, fire safety, first aid, and efficient building evacuation procedures is regularly verified by specialized external entities. We also value the feedback from our guests, which is continuously analyzed and used to implement actions that enhance satisfaction with our services.

In collaboration with our broker, we have developed a comprehensive risk register along with guidelines for their mitigation through transfer to the insurance market and implementation of appropriate procedures. We also participate in Hilton's global insurance program. We continuously monitor risks associated with conducting business, the tourism industry, our specific airport location, and the current geopolitical situation, responding accordingly as needed and possible.
